I have been a champion for the underdog since I was a child, always standing up for what is right and fighting for equality. In both my personal and professional life, I continue to be an active advocate for social equality, LGBTQIA rights, and mental health awareness, providing education and reducing stigma for people who are often marginalized by society.
A little more about me...
I was born and raised on the coast of Maine. I moved to New Jersey for college in 2003. I fell in love with both my husband and New Jersey and decided to stay. I have a little dog named Max, whom you might see in the office from time to time. I consider myself to be down to earth, friendly, fun and outgoing.
In the past couple years I've had clients and colleagues tell me I am "cool" and "funny" (where were they when I was in middle school???).
I enjoy spending time outside (when it's warm and sunny); I believe Mother Nature has her own curative powers for the soul. I love learning about pretty much anything and everything; I only wish there were more time in a day to do so.
If I could choose any superpower, I'd choose teleportation so that I could easily travel the world and visit friends and family any time I wanted.
About Growth Mindset
What is Growth Mindset?
Growth mindset refers to a person’s belief in their ability to grow through hard work and dedication. This is in contrast to a fixed mindset, where a person believes they are either good or bad at something and there is no changing that. I named my business Growth Mindset because I believe that all people have the ability to grow and achieve their dreams. I also know that growth and transformation are not often easy or comfortable transitions. Growth begins at the end of your comfort zone. I am here to help you navigate the journey and manage some of the "growing pains" of your transformation. Maybe you're a caterpillar and need a cocoon. Maybe you're already in the cocoon. Maybe you're already a butterfly but you don't feel your wings are that strong. I will meet you where you are in your life right now (pant suit or sweatpants--hey, no judgment here!) and together we will create a customized roadmap that will help you achieve your goals.
Why the butterfly?
The butterfly is a symbol of change and metamorphosis. It is proof that through hard work and patience, we can become even more beautiful and wondrous than we once were and do thing we once only dreamed of doing.
“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” -Proverb
